GF DECARBONISATION HUB

We are excited to announce a dynamic partnership with Nineteen events, the organisers of the Commercial Vehicle Show.

GREENFLEET has been chosen to deliver a Decarbonisation HUB, as one of the main show features, across 3 days.

Read on to find out how we can help YOU reach a huge commercial vehicle focused audience!

WHAT IS THE GREENFLEET DECARB HUB?…

CV Show organisers, Nineteen, have chosen GREENFLEET to deliver a zone that will serve as a one-stop-shop for any fleet professional or small business owner that is looking at changing the way their business ‘moves’.

Whether the fleet is 1 or 2 vans, or thousands of LCVs and HGVs, the HUB will have expertise and advice in abundance, to help devise and implement a decarbonisation strategy.

There will be a STUDIO, forming the epicentre of the HUB, where independent experts will discuss a multitude of topics, supported by engaging content from solution providers that can help make it all happen.

Giant screens will deliver content, all viewable live over the 3 days, and then downloadable post-show too.

The PODs will complement the STUDIO content and HUB, featuring expert advice, live demonstrations and more. And all of this delivered in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, ensuring HUB visitors feel comfortable asking for advice, be it basic and from someone at the beginning of their decarb journey. Or more advanced, from those further down the road to net zero.

There is only ONE place to be, at the CV Show… The GREENFLEET Decarb HUB!

THE DECARB STUDIO… DISCUSSING THE REAL ISSUES AROUND COMMERCIAL VEHICLE DECARBONISATION!

With the transition of commercial fleets the focus of many businesses, large and small, we have been selected to ‘lead the charge’.

The GREENFLEET Decarbonisation HUB, featuring the ‘Live STUDIO’, will be a key new feature at the Commercial Vehicle Show. We will have a host, with more than 30 years experience in the emissions and transport sector… And he will be joined by resident experts, across the 3 days, to discuss the pressing issues faced by the industry, as we strive for net zero transport in the UK.

All will then be supported by expert providers, offering tailored solutions that can assist in the transition. And while ‘electric’ will be a focus for the HUB, the conversation will not just centre around electrification. Here’s what you can expect to see as part of the programme, over the 3 days:

Electrification

Electrification of LCVs is well under way, and we will showcase where we are and what’s around the corner. eHGV’s are coming and will form part of the discussion, as will the charging and infrastructure required to make electric commercial fleets a more viable option for operators.

Hydrogen

Widely regarded as a viable alternative to electric, when it comes to HGVs and PSVs, we will look at what’s required to shift from ‘talk’ to ‘reality’. We’re joined by experts from Hydrogen UK and the Hydrogen Energy Association, with expert solutions providers joining the panelists.

Gas & Alt. Fuels

Supported by the Renewable Transport Fuel Association (RTFA), this specialist feature will include discussion on Gas fuelled transport, such as Liquified and Compressed Natural Gas (LNG/CNG). And we will also look at the alternatives, such as biofuels and their role in decarbonisation.

Strategies

Devising a decarbonisation strategy is critical to successfully making the transition. Assess where you are… Decide what needs to change… Devise a critical pathway to ensure it happens. All of this, and more, will form the discussion, including knowledge sharing from those already on the Road to Net Zero.

Technology

Technology plays a critical role in the planning process, as well as the overall management of a fleet. With market-leading solutions providers on the HUB, we are in a unique position to assist any commercial fleet operator through any stage of their strategy, using the latest available technology.

Fleet Management

It’s all well and good having vehicles in place that emit zero from the tailpipe, but managing them efficiently is another thing altogether. Maintenance, driver performance and safety, inspections and more all come under the fleet management banner and this will be a major factor on the HUB.

Freight & Logistics

The movement of goods takes planning. It requires the right vehicle for the right job. How do you break down the journey from depot to depot, hub to hub? What are the last-mile requirements and opportunities. All of this, and more, will be discussed over 3 info-packed days.

The Road Network

Having the vehicles and the technology in place is one thing, but nothing gets anywhere without a road network to move it on. And future-proofing that network, to enable the safe and efficient movement of goods is critical. Hear from those that are helping make that happen.

Panel Discussions

One-to-one interviews with independent experts will form much of the content along with Panel discussions which make for informative and lively debate. Collaboration is at the heart of what GREENFLEET does and bringing experts together is critical to instigate change.

THE EXPERTISE OF OUR ‘PARTNERS’ WILL BE CRUCIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF THE HUB

WHY DO WE HAVE TO DECARBONISE & BY WHEN?

Andy Eastlake talks to James Dallas, Editor, What Van?

THE MAIN EVENT

SESSION 1: How the BVRLA are helping UK van fleets to decarbonise

Catherine Bowen, Head of Decarbonisation & Future Mobility, BVRLA

When it comes to decarbonising a van fleet, the most popular option appears to be electrification. Andy and Catherine look at how to go about putting together a strategy that will work for your business and how the BVRLA can help instigate the switch to EV.

Session 2: The challenges and innovation in commercial fleet electrification.

Lorna McAtear, Head of Fleet, National Grid & Vice Chair, Association of Fleet Professionals

When it comes to decarbonising a van fleet, there is one person that not only has implemented a strategy that works, but can also demonstrate how there is a route for every fleet manager and any fleet, large or small. And she just so happens to be GREENFLEET’s #1 in the GF100 Most Influential. This segment is not to be missed!

Session 3: It’s hard to decarbonise… The challenges faced by SME’s in making the decarb transition?

Andy Eastlake gets to chat to both Catherine Bowen and Lorna McAtear

There is knowledge-a-plenty on the sofas here. Hear from 2 of the leading names in commercial fleet decarbonisation and how SME’s can go about it, no matter what. There is always ‘something’ that can be done, but it may not be obvious. All will become clear in this must-see sofa chat.

IT’S SHOWTIME

The segment where we’re joined by (van) commercial fleet operators that can ‘SHOW’ what CAN be done (Case studies)!

Chris Rutherford, Next Generation Ambulance Program Lead, London Ambulance Service NHS Trust

When it comes to decarbonising a fleet, they don’t come much more complex than that of a blue light transport operation. The UK’s first all-electric ambulance was developed for LAS, under the guidance and stewardship of multi award-winning fleet expert, Chris Rutherford. We hear what else he has planned as he continues along his road to decarbonisation.

Session 4: Adding fuel to the ‘decarb fire’… What are the alternatives open to commercial fleet operators?

Gloria Esposito, Director of Sustainable Business, Zemo Partnership

The role of alternative fuels in HGV and freight decarbonisation should not be underestimated. But can you be assured that your ‘power’ comes from a renewable source? The Renewables Fuels Assurance Scheme has vetted many providers and listed those that are accredited, to give fleet operators that reassurance that they are utilising the ‘right kind of fuel’.

Gaynor Hartnell, CEO, Renewable Transport Fuels Association

Andy ‘gases’ with Gaynor on the sofas as we look at LNG and CNG powered trucks and freight. Alternative fuels can be the answer to many an issue, as we strive for full decarbonisation.

Session 5: ‘Last Mile Logistics’ – From Start to Hub and Hub to Final Destination, the supply chain can be a mix of innovative transport solutions.

Andy is joined on the sofas by a logistics and freight company, a hub operator and a last-mile specialist to see how collaboration and joined-up working practice can lead to a decarbonised supply chain.

Session 6: The Innovation Piece – Here we focus on innovative commercial vehicle solutions that can help revolutionise UK fleets.

We hear from about some shining examples of innovation and how ‘thinking outside of the box’ can sometimes be the solution to decarbonisation. If you want to hear about some UK firsts, the Decarb Studio is the place to be!
