John McLellan-Grant is Regional Engagement Manager – North at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), the UK automotive industry’s leading trade association. In his role, he is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, manufacturers and supply chain businesses across the North of England, helping companies navigate industry challenges and access support, insight, and opportunities.

John has extensive experience working with SMEs and regional clusters and stakeholders, particularly in supporting collaboration, membership growth, and sector transition. He is passionate about ensuring businesses are well connected to the wider industry ecosystem and able to contribute to—and benefit from—the UK’s evolving automotive landscape.
