November 2020 saw the UK Government bring forward the step towards net-zero, marking the end of sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, with all new cars and vans to be fully zero emission at the tailpipe from 2035.

GREENFLEET responded immediately and now brings you the NET ZER0 ROADSHOW: Midlands, just one of a series of regional bespoke events designed to help you with your Fleet and Air Quality projects.

NET ZER0 ROADSHOW: Midlands will highlight how YOUR authority and the UK government can help YOUR business embark on a 'ULEV Journey', together!

Take for example the West Midlands city of Birmingham. It is the second-largest city, urban area and metropolitan area in England and the UK, with approx. 1.1 million inhabitants within its urban area alone.

Recognising the huge task ahead, the West Midlands Combined Authority made its ‘clean travel’ intentions clear in 2019, promising that no fossil fuel powered vehicles be permitted on the roads of the West Midlands in the final five years leading to 2041; accelerate transition of buses to low carbon, low pollution variants; deliver at least one ‘electric bus town’ with Government investment; adopt a collective approach to installing charging infrastructure; and committing to ongoing discussions about creating the UK’s first Gigafactory in the region.

BUT, alongside the UK government strategy, there is some hard work to be done by every organisation that operates a fleet of any kind, be it large or small, and for this reason we are here to help.

With the support of our top-flight Partners, Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, Crown Commercial Service, SMMT, National Grid and Association of Fleet Professionals, this event highlights current, new and updated regulations and policies to help make the move to zero-emission vehicles smooth, cost-effective and simple. At the same time, solutions providers will drill down into the purchasing decisions suitable for you, your fleets, your infrastructure and your project goals.

LIVE STREAM Q&A’s or Breakout Sessions will have your questions answered and place you (virtually) face-to-face with some of the most influential people in the net-zero arena. At the same time, our events feature Live Polls, meaning YOU have the chance to help shape the future of the UK fleet sector, moving forwards. You also get to interact with your colleagues and peers, using our Interactive Chat function too.

And it’s not just about the vehicles. The right charging and infrastructure, a feasible financial plan and having staff trained up to the latest standards will all be covered, leaving you secure in the knowledge that you are not alone!

So, if you are responsible for FLEET/TRANSPORT, FACILITIES/BUILDING, FINANCE and TRAINING register NOW for NET ZER0 ROADSHOW: Midlands and get involved in the conversation.
