DRIVING THE SWITCH TO CLEANER COMMERCIAL FLEETS

With air quality at the top of central and local government agendas, traditionally fuelled commercial vehicles are rapidly becoming unviable in UK cities. The wider availability and lower running costs of electric and alternatively fuelled light commercials, vans, trucks and HGVs can now offer fleet managers a solid business case for moving towards a zero-carbon fleet.

All eyes on Net-Zero…
For heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), technology development is now moving towards zero-emission options. However, these are not yet widely available and regulation has been successful at significantly reducing real world pollutant emissions from new diesel vehicles. So, while work is underway to commercialise zero-emission and other low emission options, some still believe that diesel can be a sensible current fuel choice… But is this the right approach?

Future FREIGHT Online is the event brought to you by Commercial GREENFLEET and we will show what strategies should be considered now, how implementation can help future-proof your operation, what help and assistance is available and the vehicle and innovation solutions on the market now. We will reinforce this with case study material that is designed to show what can be done, the pitfalls to be aware of and we will wrap things up with a ‘Goods Handling for Tomorrow’ open session, with experts delivering their own thoughts on what the UK commercial vehicle sector will look like in the not-too-distant future.
